Description
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 (NATO Code Fulcrum) is a Soviet air supremacist fighter aircraft developed in the early 1970s, whose first flight took place on October 6, 1977. It entered service with the Soviet Army in 1983, but is no longer ordered today by the Russian Air Force (it has been replaced since 2016 by a modernized version, the MIG-35 Fulcrum E). However, it is still used and ordered by many other countries. More than 1,100 units have so far been built. It was the 4th most used combat aircraft in the world in 2012 with, according to an estimate, 856 aircraft in operation, or 5% of the global fleet of combat aircraft
